My Story…

I’ve always been drawn to simple, natural things. After years of dealing with my own health challenges, I found myself searching for products that felt clean, nourishing and real - the kind of things my grandmother might have made. That search eventually led me to tallow, frankincense, and the quiet satisfaction of making things by hand.

Makes Scents Apothecary grew out of that need. I started creating small batches of balms and oils in my kitchen, first for myself, then for family and friends. What began as a personal experiment has become a gentle way of sharing the things that help me feel more grounded and cared for.

I live in the Byron Bay Hinterland, NSW with my partner and our two dogs. Between the garden, the daily routines, and the ongoing work of looking after my health, this little business has become a quiet creative anchor. Every jar is made slowly, with care, and with the hope that it brings a bit of comfort to someone else’s day.
